Jay-Z has spoken for the first time about why he and Beyoncé have chosen not to talk publicly about their marriage
In an interview with Vibe magazine, he claimed it was important for the couple to keep certain elements of their lives away from the media and public.
AdvertisementHe said: "You have to have something sacred to you and the people around you. I shared so much of my life. I should have something to hold on to. I just think [marriage] is really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself."
The '99 Problems' rapper wed Beyoncé in a "very special, very private, very intimate" rooftop ceremony in New York on 4 April, according to a source close to the pair.
