BREAKING NEWS: BERNIE MAC HAS DIED!!!

A publicist said Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actor and comedian Bernie Mac has died at the age of 50.

Publicist Danica Smith said Mac died early Saturday at a hospital in the Chicago area of complications due to pneumonia.

The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but he had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently had been hospitalized and treated for pneumonia

A nightclub worker has confessed to the brutal murder of a 24-year-old woman during Lil’ Kim’s birthday party last weekend.
Rahman Syed, also 24, worked as a bartender’s assistant at Spotlight Live nightclub in Times Square. He confessed to killing Ingrid Rivera on Sunday night and stuffing her body in a utility shed on the roof of the nightclub.
Rivera’s body was found by a maintenance worker on Wednesday - 2 days after she had been reported missing by her mother.
The murdered woman was one of 500 guests at rapper Lil’ Kim’s birthday party held at Spotlight Live on Sunday night. Rivera was tossed out of the nightclub because she was drunk. She later crossed paths with Syed who told her he would take her to her friend inside the club.
Syed told police he lured Rivera to the rooftop shed where he beat Rivera in the head with a metal pipe after she refused his sexual advances.
No charges have been filed in the case. Rivera had worked as a ticket agent for Delta Airlines at Kennedy airport.

KILLER MIKE AND BIG BOI SQUASH THEIR LONGTIME FEUD

Last Saturday, Killer Mike and Big Boi, after three years of non-communication, finally spoke on the phone.

After hearing Big Boi on Gangsta Grillz radio responding to his video, Killer Mike sensed another shot being taken. Mike hit a mutual friend, and consultant to both Big and Mike, Bear Sills, to see what was really up.

The crazy thing is, around the same time Made made that call, he was on his way to record the first edition of his Sunday Morning Massacre series...with intent to go at Big Boi for the remarks.

Fortunately/unfortunately, a bad storm hit Atlanta and knocked the power out over a large portion of the city, including the studio where Mike planned to record. Big Boi's uncle Darnell and Bear were encouraging Big to peace things up once and for all.

While on the phone, Big Boi's son, Cross, sensed that something was wrong from overhearing the phone conversation between Mike and Bear. Up to this point, neither Mike nor Big told their children about their recent back-and-forths.

Cross then asked Big, "you and Killer Mike not friends no more?" After Big told him "nah," Cross (just like so many Dungeon Family fans) expressed his dissapointment over the situation. When his son sat quiet and angry, fuming over what he was just told...Big asked what was wrong. Cross responded, "I'm mad you and Killer Mike not friends no more."

At that point, Big pulled over and stopped and told Bear to call Mike. As Bear was about to call Mike, Mike was calling Bear. Bear answered the phone and handed it to Big Boi...and they had a brief and sincere conversation.

The bludgeoned body of a Queens woman was found last night on the roof of the Times Square club where she was last seen on Sunday - at a birthday party for rapper Lil' Kim.

Ingrid Rivera, 24, of Richmond Hill, had been kicked out of the party at Spotlight Live on Broadway for being drunk, sources said.

A maintenance worker who'd gone to the rooftop loft that houses air-conditioning and other equipment discovered the body and grisly slay scene about 5:30 p.m. yesterday.

The sources said after bouncers tossed Rivera out of the 33rd-birthday party, she might have gotten back in through other entrances to the building.
When her body was found, she was bloody from a head wound, and her dress was hiked up, indicating she may have been dragged into the secluded spot, sources said.

No murder weapon was found.

R & B Artist Joe couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he felt something wasn't quite right with his situation at Jive Records. So after 11 years on the label and six albums, the singer decided earlier this year to bounce and give the independent route a try.
It wasn't until after he left the label that Joe says he found out what was behind his perceived stalled progress. He says his own label mate, R. Kelly, put pressure on Jive execs and radio stations to fall back on promoting his records when the singles appeared to be getting too much attention.
"R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records being played on the radio," Joe told EUR's Lee Bailey Tuesday. "He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, 'Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Yall need to pull that back.' And they would oblige."
Joe says there were a lot of shady things that went down at Jive and he's happy to finally be able to vent his frustrations freely, now that he's off the label. "It's incredible that now I get the opportunity to, I don't know, maybe pay [R. Kelly] back in some sort of side bar kind of thing."
The 35-year-old Columbus, GA native said R-ruh did not succeed in sabotaging his career, which includes seven Grammy Award nominations, three gold albums and two platinum discs.
"I'm still very relevant in the game. But yeah, he did try to make some decisions when it came down to my records being on fire, and climbing up the charts and on the radio stations," Joe said of Kelly. "He felt like they should pull back because he felt he was more important. And with their loyalty to him, they obliged."
Joe The artist is releasing his upcoming album, "New Man," on Sept 22 - via Kedar Entertainment Group - headed by his manager and former Motown president Kedar Massenburg, with Joe and Chico Debarge as full partners. Distribution will be handled by Universal Music Group's Fontana Distribution.

An indication that Dr. Dre is serious this time about his "Detox" album dropping sometime before year's end is the set's promotional tie-in with a Dre-branded Cognac, which is confirmed to be released within the next two months.


Aftermath Cognac, named after Dre's record label, will be introduced at the same time as "Detox" and will be part of an integrated marketing plan surrounding the album, reports Billboard.com.
The beverage is among the first alcoholic drinks from the Interscope Geffen A&M Records joint venture with beverage company Drinks Americas. In the Drinks Americas Q4 earnings, which were released on Monday, the company said it would introduce Aftermath Cognac in the next sixty days.
In late July Dr. Dre told USA Today that the album would be out in "November or December."

Academy Award Winning Actor Morgan Freeman was in a serious accident on Sunday night in Mississippi

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson Ben Williams said Freeman and a female passenger were traveling eastbound on Mississippi Highway 32 in Tallahatchie County when his vehicle went off the edge of the road. Freeman overcorrected, flipping his 1997 Nissan Maxima several times before coming to a rest.

The jaws of life had to be used to remove him from the vehical and he was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis. As of Yesterday(Monday) he was in serious condition.

One of my peeps was in Turks & Caicos Over the weekend and he was at the Prime Ministers House ( Lisa Raye’s Husband) and this chick comes in the room with a bathrobe on and wet hair. She introduced herself, “ Hi Im Rosci!” He figured he would find out if she was a guest or more than a guest by asking her, “Nice house, I like a tour.” She replied, “ Sure Come On”

A celebrity-filled party hosted by Jermaine Dupri was interrupted by gunshots early Saturday morning.
Gunfire erupted at 3:30 AM at the party, held at Atlanta’s Club Dreams, DeKalb County police spokesman Marcus Hodge told WSBTV’s Action News.
The event kicked off Dupri’s So So Def Summerfest weekend, with guests reportedly including music stars Diddy, Usher and Nelly, actresses Gabrielle Union and Regina King and actor Larenz Tate.

“I’m sad this incident happened because it interrupted a beautiful and loving party,” Dupri said in a statement released to Access Hollywood. “I’m happy none of my people or friends got hurt. And the party continues.”
According to Hodge however, a club security guard was struck in the arm.
The injured guard was reportedly transported to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
“The shooting was an isolated incident,” a rep for the So So Def Summerfest Weekend told WSBTV.
The shooting occurred after some guests were allegedly double-charged by security guards to enter the club and became rowdy. After being escorted out of the club, Hodge said, an unknown male revealed a gun and opened fire.

Bernie Mac Update

Bernie Mac Is Doing Just Fine
The NY Dailly News is reporting that Bernie Mac is in “very, very critical condition” after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
In an email to the Chicago Tribune, Mac’s publicist Danica Smith wrote, “You have some bad info.” She also indicated Mac would be leaving the hospital soon.
But the Chicago Sun-Times, citing a source close to the family, reported Mac’s condition as “dire” and said his wife, Rhonda McCullough, is at his bedside.
Smith also stated Mac’s pneumonia is unrelated to sarcoidosis, an immune disorder characterized by tiny lumps clumping together in either the lungs or lymph nodes (although sarcoidosis can occur anywhere in the body).
Mac was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 2005 after being hospitalized due to complications related to the disease.
Sarcoidosis, in its advanced stage, can be fatal. There is no known cure.

Cops tell us the two got into an "altercation" in the departure lounge at the Providenciales airport in the Turks and Caicos islands in the Caribbean -- and by altercation, we hear it was an all-out family brawl!

A spy at the airport that day tells us the fight was over saving seats in the lounge -- Nikki was saving five seats for her fam, and Bianca's family wanted to sit. That's when we're told the huge fight erupted -- with the entire families on both sides throwing down, yelling and cursing...

Both divas have been charged with assault -- Blonsky with two counts! But get this -- Nikki's father Carl was also charged with inflicting bodily harm, for his alleged beatdown of Eleine Golden, Bianca's mom. Nikki's arrest was first reported by Us.

Both Nikki and Bianca have been released on bail, but Carl's gotta cool his heels in jail until August 8th. All parties will have to book a trip back to the islands this fall to appear in court.
